Positive: We chose this destination because it was outside of the main tourist area, and we were looking for a slower-paced accommodation. The location of this apartment made it easy to get on the Metro (7 min walk) and get to the main tourist areas within 15-30 minutes. The host Laura was readily available via text and helpful in every way. The accommodations are comfortable, quiet and well maintained, and the neighborhood is relaxed, friendly and uncrowded. The apartment has both a washer and a separate dryer, and the dryer works well. The kitchen comes with a single cup Nespresso machine, toaster, hot pot, microwave as well as full refrigerator and stove. There are many market options within a few minutes' walk to stock up on kitchen foods/essentials. The Makus cafeteria/cafe near the apartment at Carrer de Ricart 24 was our favorite for coffee and pastries, and it also sells takeaway sandwiches.

Negative: Nothing that we didn't like, but here are a few tips: We took an Uber from the airport to the apartment for about 43 euros (mid-day, weekday). The apartment is up two flights of stairs. There is another Apt. 2 after the first flight of stairs, but that is not the right apartment. Keep going! (There is also a small elevator). We purchased the T-usual Metro subway tickets, as suggested by Laura, which made our public transportation experience easy. The Metro in Barcelona is excellent--clean, dependable and efficient. We struggled with the restaurant options around the apartment. The Cap I Cua was the best of the ones that we tried. The two bathrooms are not stocked with shampoo/conditioner.
