Positive: Casa en Aguila is one of five villas on a former hillside farm, sharing a pool and barbecue/kitchen/laundrette area. It was lovely, comfortable, well maintained and just right for two, with stunning views down over Icod and the sea and a lovely evening breeze to cool us. Being in the north of Tenerife, and at 300m above sea level, it is cloudier and cooler than the south - but that was a pleasant relief after a day in the baking heat of Teide or roasting at Siam Park or the beach! The pool is just right, big enough to swim lengths but also perfect for lazing about in or around and with only four other properties sharing it was never busy. Tenerife is hilly and this area is no different. Its a narrow and steep access road up from the main road, and the drive is steep too. Watch your wing mirrors! Icod is about an hours' drive from the airport via quite a mountainous road, though this will be cut by 20 mins and become much easier once the Tanque tunnel opens in 2026. Teide, the Observatory, Siam Park, Loro Parque and nice beaches at Puerto de la Cruz etc are all about 45m to an hour away through spectacular scenery though again the tunnel will shorten some of those trips at the loss of some views. We would definitely come back, and wished we'd booked a longer stay

Negative: The instructions were a little unclear. We didn't realise the kitchen/barbecue area was shared at first, so we didn't use it. Absolutely everything else was spot on, nothing to dislike.
