This charming 5-star farmhouse from the 16th century (Le Mas) and beautiful 4-star house (Le Mazet) are two detached houses on one site, which can be rented together or separately. Le Mas has 5 spacious bedrooms, each with its own bathroom, kitchen, lounge, large summer kitchen and a private swimming pool. Le Mazet has 1 spacious bedroom with its own bathroom and kitchen diner.

Le Mas & Le Mazet are located in the village of Sainte Croix, right between the fortified medieval bastide towns of Monpazier and Beaumont du Périgord and only a 40-minute drive from Bergerac airport.
Jasmine, roses and blue rain grow on the characteristic honey-colored natural stone walls of the house and around the shutters of the windows. The windows overlook the unspoilt countryside and the 12th-century village church of Sainte Croix.
There is a lot to do in the area. There are countless markets that sell local products or antiques. The region is famous for its castles, churches and prehistoric caves. Restaurants serve ao the specialties of the region, such as truffles, duck and foie gras. As soon as you step out the door you can make beautiful walks and follow a well-known cycle route; canoeing on the Dordogne, golfing or horse riding are just a few of the options. We are happy to advise where the sights are and what to do.
LE MAS:
The well-equipped kitchen (55 m2) is literally the center of the house. The stone walls tell the history of the building, with its centuries-old pantry and évier. It is well equipped with: a Smeg 5-burner stove with a large-sized electric oven; a Samsung washing machine; Siemens dishwasher and fridge / freezer; a Nespresso machine with Aeroccino milk frother; and a Siemens Porsche Design filter coffee maker.
The terracotta tiles continue to the sitting room (44 m2), which, just like the kitchen, has a large fireplace with wood burning stove (wood is provided) and doors that lead to the swimming pool and summer kitchen. There are 3 comfortable sofas and many books, DVDs and games to enjoy.
If you want to follow the news or watch a film, you can do so on the flat-screen TV with English channels. There is a wireless speaker that d. m.v. Bluetooth can be connected to a telephone, tablet or laptop.
Two bedrooms can be found on the ground floor. One of these rooms is wheelchair accessible, as is the majority of the ground floor and the outside area. This bedroom has two single beds and bathroom with shower, the other bedroom has three single beds and bathroom with shower.
The remaining three bedrooms are on the first floor and are served by two staircases. The first of these bedrooms is at the top of the stairs to the right of the kitchen. This room has a 180 x 200 cm bed and a shower.
The two main bedrooms are accessible via the staircase that leads from the kitchen to the floor.
These bright bedrooms are extremely spacious (33m² and 23m²) and have a 180 x 200 cm bed, ample cupboard space, wooden floors and beautiful original beams. The windows overlook the fields and the forests behind them, doubling as a lookout point for spotting deer, birds of prey and wild boar. The bathrooms in the main bedrooms have both a bathtub and a shower.
Each bathroom has Noir toiletries from The White Company, a hairdryer, and each bedroom has a summer fan.
Opposite the kitchen is the covered summer kitchen (65m²). This former barn has retained its original roof, but the openings on three sides offer you shade and a cooling breeze. There is a small kitchen with sink, fridge and a Weber gas barbecue with 3 burners (gas bottles are provided). A large dining table with 12 comfortable chairs make it the perfect place for long lunches, finding coolness in the heat of the day, fancy dinners and long, balmy evenings.
The private swimming pool is 10 x 5 meters, heated, with salt water and with an electrical cover. The swimming pool is open from April to October. A saltwater pool uses the process of electrolysis to purify the water without the addition of chlorine, resulting in softer water and less risk of allergies and eye and skin irritations. A saltwater pool only has about 10% of the salt content of the ocean.
The swimming pool is positioned in such a way that you can take maximum advantage of the miles of distant view of the fields and forests behind it, take a seat on the sun beds and chairs and enjoy it! If you want to quietly read a book, there are several secluded spots in the garden where you can isolate yourself. In the garden you can play various games such as table tennis, football, boules, badminton rackets and shuttles, a children's croquette.
LE MAZET:
Le Mazet is a charming detached cottage, renovated into the ideal holiday home for one or two people. Perfect if you want to explore the Dordogne region or just want to relax in the private garden. Le Mazet guests cannot use the swimming pool in the private garden of Le Mas. Radiators and a crackling fire in the wood-burning stove (wood is provided) also make Le Mazet the ideal place for a stay from autumn to spring.
Le Mazet is accessible via the garden, a stone staircase leads to the front door on the first floor, where the living room with open kitchen is located (36 m2). It is a double-height sunny room with the original beams in sight and windows in all four walls. In the large fireplace is a wood stove (wood is provided).
It is fully equipped - a comfortable sofa, dining table and chairs, satellite TV with English channels, DVD player, wireless speaker and free Wi-Fi.
There is a modern well-equipped kitchen with gas hob and electric oven, dishwasher, refrigerator, microwave, toaster, kettle and Nespresso machine with Aeroccino milk frother.
A staircase leads from the sitting room to the bedroom with bathroom on the ground floor. There is a king-size bed, dressing table and chair, a wardrobe and chest of drawers.
The spacious bathroom has a walk-in shower, sink, toilet, washing machine, hairdryer and towel radiator.
