Summary: You pay for location! Which was worth it. Place was nice, some things need fixing and cleaning but the view and having a glass of wine with the doors open listening to the church bells at 11 am and 7 pm. Easy to get around with taxi’s although I walked and walked from the beaches one day up to the views the next. Took the cable car and experienced the neighborhood supermarket so some meals at the apt made life easier. NOW, the downer part is! Although Arthur was pleasant when I explained the day I was leaving about some of the noise he basically tried to tell me impossible noises because the building is all old people. Not true as a emergency service observer. Plenty of people in their 30/40’s. Not a problem except the person who lives above the apt. walked like an elephant stomping his heels into the floors as he moved around. Beyond annoying after a long day of being out and about walking. Turned the TV up to try and camouflage the noise. Helped a little bit. The last night the younger man who lives next door I suppose with his older mother. I bumped into them one day while returning from being out. Well he had friends over and the table/area where they were talking and laughing was on the other side of the bedroom wall. Not that big a deal, propels should enjoy themselves. Except the walls seems to be a little thicker than paper, I could hear it all while trying to sleep. I couldn’t sleep, had to move into the small single bed in the other room, which being over 6’ 3 I didn’t fit well and couldn’t stretch out. I did return to the big bedroom thinking they were done not hearing them until they started up again. Lasted until near 4am and this I only know cause I tried to go back into the big bedroom 3 times. This place is great as long as you know what you might be going into. A renter the request is no parties and be mindful of the neighbors especially after 10 pm. It doesn’t mean they’ll be mindful of you. Maybe they don’t have people over every weekend either so, it’s a crapshoot as they say. It is a city, and in the city there is noise. Buses, horns, sirens, kid scooters and the like. If you only like peace and quiet then this is probably not the place for you. Otherwise, it is a great place to really experience a neighborhood in Barcelona!
